Eureka Springs Pow Wow

Flag Dance - Eureka Springs Pow Wow from Jason Crader on Vimeo.
I attended a Pow Wow held at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge near Eureka Springs today. Here is one of my favorite pictures and some video of the flag dance. It was extremely hot outside and I've got a sunburn to prove it. I was amazed at the beauty of these dancers but I was even more taken aback by the fact that they were able to stay dressed in these ornate costumes all day in 100 degree heat.

For the past 15 years, I've concentrated primarily on nature photography. During this time, I've photographed from Alaska to Florida and many states in between with an emphasis on wildlife photography. My interest in wildlife will never cease, but recently I've been enjoying shooting people so much that I've decided to concentrate more on this type of photography for now. I've been in the process of redesigning my website and my own photographic pursuits. The new design is reflective of my new endeavors. I still plan to do nature photography as often as possible but I plan to devote more time to capturing images of people. All of my nature photography will be posted at my other website: www.arkansasphoto.com and all of my "people" related photos will be posted here. I'm not giving up nature photography at all. It will still be the major part of my business but I'm going to use this site as a way to promote my portrait business.
